WMS definitely felt that they were onto something when it came time to launch Zeus 3 to the masses with its unique board layout, to the point that they decided to use it all over again on a different game. The game in question is Red Flag Fleet, a video slot that we’d dare say fits nicely into the Oriental slots category, but this time with a major seafaring theme to go along with it.

If you have played Zeus 3 before then there’s not much by way of surprises on this game as they play out almost identically. The unique board gives rise to the opportunity to play over 192 fixed pay lines and there’s also a stacked wild to ensure that the massive number of lines rarely goes to waste. That symbol is depicted by the Red Flag Fleet logo and is joined as a feature symbol by the pirate ship.

The pirates may have been the bane of traders on the sea but you’ll be happy to see as many of them as possible as three or more across the board will lead to free spins. Three ships are sufficient for five free games but the round gets much better when you land a higher number. Specifically, four ships award twelve free games plus an instant win worth ten times your total stake, while five ships in view award fifty times your bet and a juicy forty spins too.

The board itself is flipped during the spins, so the tallest reel is the first one and they then get progressively smaller from this point. The outstanding element of this part of the game, though, is definitely the fact that two reels will be randomly selected before each spin to turn completely wild, making for some cracking returns. Three or more pirate ships will also win you five more free spins to add to whatever is left from the start of the game.

While cynics may argue that Red Flag Fleet is just Zeus 3 with a different skin – and be onto something – the fact remains that as a standalone game this one is highly entertaining and potentially very lucrative.
