The first Black Knight slot was one of the games that really signalled the arrival of WMS as a major player as far as online slots were concerned. So long a leader in the offline industry, they adapted to an online audience quicker than just about any of their major competitors. Fortunately, they had the back catalogue to back up their ambitions and among the leading games just primed and ready to be unleashed online was the sequel, Black Knight 2.

This sequel follows a similar formula to the original. WMS resisted the opportunity to cram in Giant Reels such as those found on Spartacus or anything like that and basic gameplay is actually fairly standard with forty win lines – an increase of ten over the first game – and just about any kind of line bet imaginable.

Stack Those Symbols

While there are plenty of playing card icons on the game, there’s no shortage of higher value symbols such as the crown, ring, mace, jester and king. We don’t normally go into detail on the symbols themselves unless a bonus is involved but it’s worth it here as each and every one of these icons can land in full, reel sized stacks, making those forty lines even more valuable. The Black Knight is pretty handy in his own right too as he’s the wild card. He’s also stacked and can appear on reels two, three and four, plus has the added distinction of being one of the rare wild cards to be able to fill in for scatters as well as regular symbols.

Pick Up a Win in the Free Spins

The free spins round on Black Knight 2 is actually a little underwhelming and is by no means the focal point of the game – the stacked symbols take that accolade. It’s certainly not to be ignored though as players can pick up seven free spins every time three or more bonus symbols land on the board, starting from the first reel. In fairness, the fact that the wild card also fills in as a bonus symbol means that it comes around regularly and there can be no complaints when the spins aren’t taking a chunk out of your bankroll!

Black Knight 2 is a worthy follow-up to one of the most successful WMS games out there and while the free spins are underwhelming, the stacked symbols and dynamic wild more than cover for it.
